Wheelchairs & strollers

Fløibanen is accessible to wheelchair users and visitors travelling with strollers. The lower and upper stations, as well as the intermediate stations, all have accessible entrances.

The uppermost compartment is reserved for wheelchairs and strollers. Each departure can accommodate up to three wheelchairs or strollers, depending on their size and design. Follow the directions below to board and exit without using stairs.

Going up to Fløyen

At the lower station, use the ticket gate on the far left. This gate is wider than the others and designed for wheelchairs and strollers.

Continue straight ahead to the lift and take it up to the boarding area. From here, you can roll straight into the uppermost compartment. When you arrive at Fløyen, you can roll straight out.

At Fløyen

Fløirestauranten, Fløistuen Butikk, Fløistuen Kafé and Skomakerstuen all have wheelchair access. A free accessible toilet and baby-changing facilities are also available.

Going down from Fløyen

At the upper station, use the ticket gate on the far left. Keep to the far left as you continue towards the funicular, and you can roll straight into the uppermost compartment.

When you arrive at the lower station, exit to the right, the same way you entered on your journey up. Other passengers exit to the left, but the route to the right takes you to the lift and a step-free exit.

Go past the lift you used on your way up and follow the arrows on the ground to the second lift, a few metres further along. Take this lift down to the exit.
